Community engagement is a foundational principle of Waubonsee Community College. We devote ourselves to building partnerships that help us meet our educational mission and also those that help our community thrive. Waubonsee students, faculty and staff actively participate in volunteer efforts throughout our service area, many serving on the governing boards of community organizations.
Waubonsee partners with all types of groups on all types of initiatives. Our Brighter Futures Initiative brings together local social service, educational, workforce, and governmental entities to help those in our community who have been negatively impacted by the economic downturn. With College Readiness, Waubonsee looks to collaborate with our local school districts to improve the chances for post-secondary success for our district's youth. We even looked to improve the health and safety of our community through the award-winning "Alive at 25" partnership between our Driver Safety program, the Sugar Grove Police Department, Kaneland School District and the Kane County Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Taskforce.
We're always looking for ways to pool our resources for the betterment of our community. Together we can make a bigger difference. Please contact the Office of the President with partnership proposals.
