2020 College Master Plan - Waubonsee Community College - Phase I (May 24, 2004)
Phase I of the 2020 College Master Plan
began in the spring of 2003 with the Waubonsee board of trustees approval to construct two new facilities on the Sugar Grove campus.
Phase I includes the construction of a new science building and a new maintenance facility.

The new science building will provide classrooms and labs for Waubonsee students who enroll in courses in the physical and life science areas.
The new 50,000 square-foot Waubonsee science building will be located on the north side of the Sugar Grove campus near Akerlow and Erickson Halls.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for the fall of 2004.
Approximate cost: $13,000,000.

First floor * of the new science building that features classrooms and labs for biology courses. Enrollment in Waubonsee biology courses has increased by 70 percent since 1991.

Second floor * of the new science building that features classrooms and labs for chemistry and earth science courses. Enrollment in earth science courses has increased by 320 percent since 1991.

The new 20,000 square foot maintenance and central storage facility will be located on the north perimeter of the Sugar Grove campus. Groundbreaking will occur during the summer of 2004, with occupancy expected in the fall of 2004. Approximate cost: $2,200,000.
